So– I’ve been with my partner for a little over a year. We recently signed a lease together and are planning to move in with each other on Tuesday after thanksgiving. We talked about how we were going to talk about bills and rent and things and he suggested a joint account. I am fine with it because I can split my check and have just the portion I need deposited put into it. He thinks that this will be the best test before marriage to see how we manage money together and he’s upset that I’m only putting in a portion. He’s putting his entire check in and says that we should learn to be w family before we become one. How should I feel about this? I haven’t even though joint account before this moving in thing and I just don’t know if I’d want to do it in marriage. Are joint accounts a good thing? Or just a recipe for disaster?
